11th Annual Business Forum
Taking the Entrepreneurial Path
"From Ideas to Money"

October 30 & 31, 2008

The Darden Graduate School of Business
Charlottesville, VA

This two-day forum has several exciting seminars and events from which to choose.

THURSDAY WORKSHOPS

FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND INNOVATORS, students and division heads, Thursday kicks off with an Entrepreneurial Workshop developed by SRI International! The workshop provides a hands-on education and experience for 60 innovators (first come first serve!) and includes break-out sessions of 10. The innovation workshop is not to be missed and you are guaranteed to leave with new tools and ideas, not a lecture!

THURSDAY EVENING

The private equity portion of the program begins after Thursday's workshops with the Keynote & Gala Reception featuring Dr. Krishna Kodukula as our Keynote Speaker who will inspire and engage with his take on Innovation: Nature or Nurture? Dr. Kodukula is a fascinating man and his biography spans continents, ages and endeavors!

FRIDAY EVENTS

Day two begins at 7:30 am with a registration breakfast and is followed at 8:30 am by the ABF's signature "Live Fire!" event. You can participate in "Live Fire!" by submitting your own business plan to the screening committee. • Michael Caine - Chairman and Founder Wilmington Investor Network (NC) and Managing Partner of Emergent Growth Fund II (FL)
  • William D. Hill (Will) - Principal, M.A. Warren Associates, LLC; Member, Angel Investor Forum (CT)

Live Fire!” will be followed by a Special Luncheon SpeakerBulent Atalay, Ph.D., Physics Professor, Author, and Artist (author of Math and the Mona Lisa)

Darden Business Concept Competition closes out the afternoon. Innovators with a connection to Darden will present to a panel of angels and VCs to win prizes and a potential opportunity to enter the Darden Incubator. Come, participate, and see if you can predict who the winners will be.
